I’ve lost friends, family, and loved ones far too young to suicide, accidents, and aggressive illness. These weren’t distant stories; they were classmates, friends, and family members. People, whose absence has permanently changed those left behind.
The Challenge:
Chronic illness has defined my life and my family’s. Both my father and I manage inherited conditions, including type one diabetes. I’ve undergone surgeries that permanently changed my body and how I move through the world.
The Realization:
Through it all, one truth became clear: medicine can help treat the body. However, strength, identity, and endurance are built elsewhere.
Our Mission:
STM exists for the space where healing isn’t linear, where recovery is ongoing, and where strength looks different for everyone. It’s for those who keep going, not because it’s easy, but because stopping was never an option.
